It's been a busy 2023 for UTALL š We've grown our team (myself, Ayush, Karissa, Diana, Cindy Lou, Jeffrey, and Julia), hosted visitors (Caleb from U Buffalo and Drew from Bates), processed a bunch of samples (our reader turned 1 this summer š), and launched a bunch of exciting projects.

Ayush and I wrapped up our SCEC grant along the Mission Creek fault strand (we'll be back next month for more š„¾). Karissa returned to Yellowstone to collect more samples from hydrothermal explosions (after 18 months of struggle, we think we're finally onto a promising strategy šµļøāāļøšµļøāāļø). Jeffrey has been sifting through the sands of Texan rivers to develop provenance fingerprints ā. Diana and Julia are preparing for our first field trip of our newly awarded NSF grant to study ventifact development in the Mojave š. Cindy Lou is learning to love MATLAB before her upcoming field work in the Beartooth Mountains š.
We're hoping for a 2024 filled with good food and low single-grain overdispersion.
